The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

This shoegaze pop quartet have a name seemingly cribbed from a Taoist text, and the past year has treated the Pains of Being Pure at Heart most divinely indeed.

Their critically acclaimed self-titled debut made for a blitzkrieg of media attention, and an upcoming UK tour proves they've got momentumto last them well into the New Year.

Despite the intense, giddy highs that sudden indie stardom can bring, the New York band seems surprisingly grounded. "We never had a goal to make it," says bassist Alex Naidus, "So we feel lucky and excited in equal parts. This is pretty much the most fun we'll ever have."
